Academia Day Theatre

The Academia Day Theatre is a facility where skilled specialist performs day procedures that do not require an overnight stay. Patients are booked, or admitted, operated on and discharged on the same day.

The facility offers a clean and safe environment and it is operated by highly trained and professional staff members. All health care professionals who are registered with the Health Professionals Council of Namibia are welcome to make use of the Academia Day Theatre. The facility is registered with NAMAF (Namibian Association of Medical Aid Funds) and is also registered at the Ministry of Health and Social Services.

On average, a mini surgery is completed in less than one hour and the patient may have two or three-hour rest before they return home on the same day, and this minimizes the need for hospitalization.

Our Facility

Our day theatre is a fully equipped operating room, with 8 recovery bays. It is also equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that supports advanced surgical techniques and better anesthetics to facilitate faster recovery time for patients after procedures. Patient safety is a key focus at the Day theatre and to ensure minimal risk of infection we ensure excellent air quality control during procedures and stringent tests for bacterial count, particle count and air exchange rates to ensure a safe environment for our patients.

All healthcare professionals making uses of Academia Day Theatre complete the pre-admission process 48 hours prior to the day of your surgery. Our electronic patient medical records and scheduling system make process smooth and real-time information is also captured on the operating theatre dashboard system electronically to ensure the availability of timely updates.
